The Moderators of KFalconCam invite you to join the Yahoo-group

Hi Folks,

As some of you know, in 2002 Mt Woman created a Yahoo-Group, called “KfalconCam” to take us through the off-season when the Rochester Falconcam (which then was the Kodak Birdcam) isn't available. Through this group it is possible to stay in touch, exchange (mostly!) nature-related information and have fun.

The group is over 1400 members strong and, with the discontinuation of the Kodak discussion board, is THE place to discuss the Rochester Peregrine Falcons Mariah and Kaver. In addition to the forum, KFalconCam also provides many neat features like photo album space, link lists and fun poll.

KFalconCam is jointly moderated by Baerbel, Aafke, Judi, Carol and Dana and we share the day to day tasks involved with running it.

If you are interested in joining, the following paragraphs contain some information about the group:

The group is NOT listed in the Yahoo group directory, and therefore is not 'public'.

The group has restricted membership, so all requests will go through an approval process.

The group is un-moderated; what is written will post as is, but we have the option to enforce moderation of posts if it becomes necessary (which we hope will not be the case!)

The address is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kfalconcam. When you go to this URL, it shows the group homepage. At the top it gives the option to join. Click on that, and then follow the directions. If you are not already a Yahoo user, please "join" Yahoo (create a Yahoo-account) before you join the group.

Please read all Yahoo privacy/usage statements before doing so and avail yourself of all the correct options! Look out for small, checked boxes stating that you want notification" of Yahoo services, updates, etc.: UNCHECK THEM or you may be inundated with unwanted e-mails.

We recommend, creating a "false" ID name and to use a different address than your primary email address. When your Yahoo-ID shows up as a 'pending' member for the group, you will automatically receive an e-mail informing you of the approval steps (watch out for a message from KFalconCam Moderator entitled "File - Your request to join the Yahoo-Group KFalconCam").

Reply to this message with the answers to the few questions and as soon as one of the moderators has reviewed it, your membership will be approved. When you become a member, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing additional group information.
